Purpose and Scope

SDU Law Journal is a peer-reviewed, multilingual (Kazakh, English, Russian), and open-access academic journal. It considers scientific articles in the fields of journalism, media, and communication that have not been previously published in other publications.

This guideline has been developed in accordance with the order of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On the approval of requirements for scientific publications for inclusion in the list of journals recommended for publishing the results of scientific activities” and SDU University’s policy on scientific publications.

The purpose of the journal is to deepen scholarly understanding by exploring theoretical and practical issues in journalism, media, and communication, as well as fostering an academic environment by publishing research findings of Kazakhstani and international scholars. 

The journal’s research areas are:

  • Media: Society. History. Politics 
  • Journalism

Publication Frequency

SDU Law Journal is published four times a year (March, June, September, and December). Articles undergo a double-blind peer review by two reviewers.

Publication Fees

Publication in the SDU Law Journal is free of charge. The journal does not require authors to pay any fees for manuscript submission or publication, except in cases specified by the university’s regulations on scientific publications.

Open Access Policy and Archiving

The journal website is hosted on the Open Journal System (OJS) platform, installed on the university’s server, and is available at: https://lj.sdu.edu.kz. The journal’s issue archive can be accessed at:https://lj.sdu.edu.kz/index.php/lj/issue/archive.
